The establishment, construction and development of the Spa in Vrdnik are positive repercussions of the appearance of thermal water, which is at constant temperature of 32.8°C. It appeared at the main of brown coal, which was closed after 164 years of existence, as a consequence of flooding the grove with thermal water.
The first patients of the spa were the mine workers, who recognized the positive effects of thermal water even in the 19th century by washing their feet in the warm greenish water, which had the effect to alleviate rheumatic pain.
Current development of the spa started with the construction of high quality and functional accommodation and medical treatment capacities, indoor and outdoor swimming pools with the supporting infrastructure.
In 1997 the facility got the status of Spa, and Vrdnik of a tourist attraction.
Nowadays The Special Hospital for Rehabilitation “Termal” has at its disposal modern equipment and professional staff: specialists of physical medicine and rehabilitation, acupuncturist, middle and highly educated physiotherapists and nurses.
The Special Hospital for Rehabilitation “Termal” has at its disposal 96 rooms: 6 single rooms, 18 double rooms, 68 triple rooms and 4 two-bed apartments.
Each room has a separate bathroom, telephone, cable TV. The attic rooms have air-conditioning as well.
The equipment of the apartments: TV, telephone, mini-bar, Jacuzzi, air-conditions.
There are two restaurants and a cocktail bar.
The facilities within the Special Hospital have at their disposal 60 beds.
The congress hall has the capacity of 500 seats with the adequate technical and audio equipment.
